A prism housing for the Pitometer

A prism mounting was invented by Edward Cole, in 1907. The prism clipped onto both legs of the manometer tube and recorded the movement of markers floating on the heavier fluid. Markers in the ascending and descending tubes were apparently of different widths so their tracings could be distinguished on the resulting chart.
