Cooper's vertical centrifuge

D. Cooper, Philadelphia, patent filed July 16, 1888 and granted Feb 10, 1891. A horizontal axis milk test centrifuge was claimed by the maker to allow better separation by working in concert with gravity. He doesn't mention that during half of each revolution it would be working against gravity, or what happens when the machine is stopped with one set of tubes upside down.
