Used for turning long wooden shafts or rods, this rounding plane is mortised into a 4"x22" bench on 4 splayed legs. The opening between the two stocks is adjusted by two 1 1/8" wooden screws to accommodate varying diameter stock. The Millers Falls iron is certainly not the original. There are age cracks in the ends of the stocks and it would seem the wedge would need the center trimmed back to allow shavings to exit. A unique conversation piece.
