Brecht's Hub Borer

The jaws of the hub clamp are operated by a pair of screws with right and left hand threads on opposite ends, driven by gearing. The cutting blade is adjustable for width of cut. Marked G.V. Brecht, St. Louis, MO, Patent June 16, 1868. A thumb screw is missing from the gauge collar. The ends of the handle on the middle gear are rough, suggesting a knob has been broken off, but the patent illustration doesn't show this and I haven't seen another example. Otherwise, appears complete and working, but needs cleaning and oiling.
